Cambridge mom who built a beloved running club honoured as an Unsung Hero

What began as a small, free running group for new mothers has grown into one of Cambridge's most welcoming and impactful community movements.

Just over a year ago, Sarah Hubbell founded the River Rats Run Club (RRRC) with a simple goal: to create a supportive space where mothers could connect through movement.

Today, the club boasts more than 300 members, over 1,300 social media followers and a reputation for fostering belonging, encouragement and genuine community.

For her dedication to creating a safe and inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds and abilities, Hubbell has been named the Unsung Hero award winner in this year's CambridgeToday Community Builders Awards.
