Cambridge to Paris Rail Trail
A peaceful, uninterrupted run alongside the Grand River. Long straight stretches and almost no road crossings make it ideal for conversation-paced runs and longer efforts, just minutes from downtown.
Meeting spot: Public parking lot, 210 Water St S, Cambridge (meet by the cylinder blocks and picnic table at the trailhead)
Distance: 20 minutes out and back, roughly 6 km to the footbridge turnaround.
Terrain: Wide crushed gravel and dirt, flat with minimal elevation. Not winter friendly.
Good for: Sturdy jogging strollers with larger wheels, great for bikes and scooters, dogs on leash. Excellent traffic-free option for families.
Good to know: Shared with cyclists, keep right. Limited lighting, bring reflective gear for early or late runs. What3Words app recommended for emergencies. Free trailhead parking. Indulge Ice Cream is a popular post-run stop in summer.
